| BIO: |
| CMH Records is pleased to present Long Time Coming, the latest album from Bluegrass supergroup Continental Divide led by the vocal and instrumental talents of David Parmley. This band of all-star singers and pickers play Bluegrass the way Bill Monroe intended it – soulful, hard drivin’ and respectful of tradition.
Parmley secured his place in Bluegrass history as a founding member of the inimitable Bluegrass Cardinals, the ground-breaking group that recorded for CMH Records in the ’70s. Known for their instrumental and vocal prowess and ability to incorporate traditional songs with contemporary material in their sets, the Cardinals paved the way for countless progressive and “newgrass” bands who would rise to prominence years later.
Long Time Coming picks up where the Cardinals left off and offers a diverse set of familiar and new songs which draw from both spiritual and secular sources. Continental Divide is just as comfortable belting out a bluesy number like the album’s opener “More Than I Can Bear” as with the traditional sounding gospel song “I’ll Be A Friend to Jesus.”
Impeccably produced and featuring dazzling three and four part harmonies as well as the hottest pickin’ east of the Mississippi River, Long Time Coming will have you tapping your feet with a smile on your face.
