Orange County heroes The Offspring exploded onto the music scene in 1994 with their landmark album Smash. Along with Green Day and Rancid, The Offspring helped to breathe new life into the stagnant punk underground and bring it into the mainstream limelight. Their ferocious blend of speedy riffs, street anthems and pop hooks introduced a whole new generation of kids to the world of punk rock. The impact they’ve made can be felt in so much of the music that’s coming out of the indie and alternative music scene in the 21st century.
Americano: The Bluegrass Tribute to The Offspring is filled with blisteringly-fast banjo pickin’ and bubbly bluegrass harmonies. Cornbread Red’s interpretation of The Offspring’s music is a mixture of hard-edged playing matched with some of the most fun and funny singing in the bluegrass world. It is a fitting tribute for a band that has built their reputation on being so many things to so many people.
