Pick This Way:A Bluegrass Tribute to Aerosmith
| Details: |
Aerosmith started out when Steven Tyler wandered into a gig that Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry was playing with his previous band (the ingeniously named Jam Band), and when Perry’s wild improvisational style fused with Tyler’s tight, screaming vocals, voila – the blistering, bluesy, pumping rock of Aerosmith was born! Backed by Tom Hamilton, Brad Whitford and Joey Kramer, Tyler and Perry have now blasted out three decades worth of classic hits and whether it’s all for sex, drugs or rock and roll, they’ve more than proven their staying power and surely aren’t going to retire gracefully.
CMH Records takes Aerosmith back to their roots with the stripped down sounds of Pick This Way: A Vocal Bluegrass Tribute to Aerosmith. Banjo, dobro and slide guitar are a few of the instruments that reinvent classics like “Walk This Way” with a homespun twist, pulling Joe Perry and Brad Whitford’s complex fretwork to the forefront. On top of this, Cornbread Red’s sweet home vocals beautifully mirror the sweet emotion of Steven Tyler’s lyrics to round off this great bluegrass package.
